Reel Appeal fishing charter was a great and affordable trip. The beautiful drive from the ferry to the resort. The staff was very easy to get along with, non-stop laughs. The accommodations were a home away from home just amped up with the ocean view outside our window just amazing. The fishing was amazing with from the salmon and halibut which we caught our limits was a lot quicker than I thought. We walked on the beach and collected seashells which were in abundance. We took a trip into town to do some souvenir shopping. Overall I would rate this trip a 10 out of 10 and will definitely do this trip again. I would like to say thank you to Reel Appeal for the wonderful trip it was an experience to remember. I will see you again.
With 7 Eco systems in the province on British Columbia, Haida Gwaii island being one of the seven on its own, the island has breath taking scenery around every corner. From the ancient rain forest to the miles of coastal beaches and fresh salty air will have you thriving. Now to have a resort on the north island along the north beach with a beautiful own cabin on north shore to experience this is an adventure on its own. Now to fish the Hecate straight fisheries is bar none the best fish the west coast has to offer from trolling for salmon, jigging for bottom fish or taking a walk and setting crab traps along the beach and letting the tide do all the work for you. Dez and his crew at the “Reel Appeal” will not only be taking care of you with great accommodations, catching a tyee king salmon of a lifetime and filling all your adventure needs on the Haida Gwaii island. Thank you for the great experience Dez, I will be back.

The cabins were spacious, clean and extremely well kept. And the ocean views from the property are like something out of a postcard.

The cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed to just show up and enjoy our holiday on Haida Gwaii. Right out our front door was miles of accessible beach that you could see from the front windows. On clear days you could even see Alaska across the water.
It is only a 10-minute drive into Masset, which had groceries, good places to eat, museums and lots of local Haida art galleries.
Fishing with Reel Appeal was also a great experience. The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and would get us on the fish right away. Very nice boats with top of the line gear. We look forward to booking again with Reel Appeal this season.
Thank you Stacey and Desi for an amazing week at your resort. The Cabins were amazing, the girls and I really enjoyed staying there. I had the best sleep ever! The beach was fantastic, we collected so many treasures.
The Fishing was amazing, I was so surprized we found so many fish in so little time. The cleaning station was super slick. My Granddaughter and her friend are still talking about our trip and can’t wait to go back and that is something considering they are teenagers lol. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
Real appeal resort definitely has a “real appeal” to it – pun intended if your planning a fishing / relaxing get away this is the place to do it. Haida Gwaii island is a remote area off the coast of BC that has every thing your looking for. At reel appeal the cabins are clean and modern with every amenity you would need for day to day living. There’s washers and dryers, tvs, loft space and incredible views. The hosts are amazing people who are extremely accommodating to all your needs. Plus, the real reason you’re wanting to visit besides the breath taking views is the fishing charters. Our host was ready and willing to take us out anytime that worked for us allowing us to either sleep in or wake up early and knew of all the best fishing spots! I was slightly disappointed at one point with the fishing grounds as I didn’t even get a chance to reel my hook in without fish biting my lines (and obviously being caught with the help of my fishing expert guide Dezy) however he will bring you anywhere in the ocean that will accommodate your fishing goals! If you want to catch a giant halibut the moment your line hits the bottom he has a spot, if you want to trail some salmon and catch a cooler full in an afternoon, he has a spot! If you just want to relax with some good tunes and just fish for the sake of it, he will bring you to some spectacular views to just relax – plus there’s a chance you even see a whale!! I was lucky enough to do so and I hope you are too. I can’t say enough about how amazing my experience was there and my only regret was not staying longer so I could experience more of the hiking trails and museums the towns have to offer. Also if you are a seashell collector the beach is only about 100m from the cabin with so many beautiful shells in all shapes and sizes to find! 10/10 recommend reel appeal cabins, fishing charter, hosts and overall experience for everyone looking for an amazing fishing / relaxing week / weekend.
